Oriss-A and Bengal finished joint champions in the East Zone Under-14 Cricket Tournament after the final match between the two sides was abandoned due to rain at Nimpur ground in Cuttack today. Electing to bat, Bengal were struggling at 60 for five in 20.2 overs when rain put an end to the match.
Loisingha MLA Ramakanta Seth handed over the trophy in the closing function. According to the suggestion of host Orissa Cricket Association secretary Asirbad Behera, it was announced that Bengal would keep the trophy for the first six months.
